How to time your Christmas lights
November 17, 2011If you’re trying to create a holiday display to wow people driving through your neighborhood at night, putting your lights on a timer is a simple way to ensure you’ll get maximum exposure, even when you’re not at home. If you want to make sure you’re not wasting money, by accidentally leaving the lights on during the day, a timer can help with that too. Before installing any lights, however, if they’re not brand new it might be wise to test them all out and making sure they all work and don’t cause any issues in your home. Older lights can cause electrical short cuts which are not ideal. Once tested, use wrap around cable labels to tell the lights apart and know that they’re suitable for use.
