Promoting Your Event with LED Lights

LED lights are an eye-catching and innovative way to draw attention to local events. This year, take your events beyond decorating the façade of your business or wrapping the landscaping in rope lights. Those time-honored decorative techniques will still add excitement to your event, but to really make some heads turn-get creative!

For a stage production of Cinderella, they built a glass slipper and framed it with lights. This sounds like a big project! But working with their local sign company, they were easily able to get a slipper-shaped sign to string the lights onto. The results were pure magic!

First, they drew up some slipper design ideas. Next, the sign company sent them some specifications for the slipper. Finally, they received their slipper “sign” and used it to trace out a beautiful lighting design. Having the dimensions from the sign company even helped them calculate exactly how much lighting to purchase. Pretty cool, right? Here’s another idea from our friends at the theater company: For a less precise shape, or for fun lighted lettering, you can trace out a light display on your own. The next season, they put on a production of Les Miserables, which of course does not lend itself to fun designs the same way Cinderella does. They decided to trace out “Les Mis” in lighted cursive lettering, using the same scaffolding they had already constructed for the Cinderella production. And when their production of Shrek rolled around, they were ready for that too.
